Chappy Chanukah!

Woody Guthrie's mother-in-law, Aliza Greenblatt, was a Yiddish poet who introduced him to Jewish history and culture. Inspired by her, Woody wrote many Jewish-themed songs, including some fantastic Chanukah tunes. Here's one - my holiday gift for all you little latkes - just click to listen:

Happy Chanuka dear Xela. I 've been thinking about your first Chanuka when I light the candles and hoping that your pal Xela from California would be home. Guess what? Wishes do come true. She's out of PGN and she's coming home soon.

I love the song!
