I'm Tickled...

PINK!!!!!

It's hard to believe... finally, the pieces are coming together.

Today, the US Embassy in Guatemala City issued my "pink slip" - the last important hurdle of my adoption journey.

October 24th is my Embassy interview; hopefully Pamcita will do most of the talking.

October 25th at 3:30 pm, my visa will be ready... making me a US citizen.

And Friday October 26th, I'll be home!

What a long strange trip it's been...

Hola Xela Rosita!

We can't wait to meet you. You are welcome to visit Sheep Island any time (while I'm still here), and you can tell your mom the Panic Hotline is open 24 hours a day for those pesky questions like "What do I do when THIS happens?"

Congratulations! You survived the system! We're very happy for you, and with any luck the other Xela will follow her across the border soon. Happy day! :)

What timing! Your room on the North Shore will be almost ready by the time you arrive. So when the sights and sounds of the big city get too much for you, you (and your mom) will always have a retreat with your ever devoted tias,
